Summary: Per the DeFiChain Marketing SIG, on 3 Nov 2026 DeFiChain was hit by a critical vulnerability in its account-to-account transfer mechanism; an arithmetic overflow caused only 1 satoshi of DFI to be deducted from the sender while recipients were credited the full amounts, letting an attacker create approximately 92.23 billion DFI. A second address was later identified holding another approximately 92.23 billion DFI from the same vulnerability, for about 184.47 billion DFI total (more than 140 times DeFiChain's intended ~1.3 billion DFI max supply).
